GoldenWheels Car Rental Pafos

Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions explain the main rules that apply when you book, collect, use and return a rental vehicle from GoldenWheels. Please read them carefully before completing your booking.

Applicable in the Republic of Cyprus Last updated: July 2026
01

Bookings and acceptance of these terms

By making a reservation through our website, by telephone, by message or in person, you confirm that the booking details you provide are accurate and that you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

The booking confirmation, selected vehicle category, rental dates, collection and return locations, price, insurance option and any additional services form part of your booking.

The rental agreement issued when the vehicle is collected may include vehicle-specific information and the applicable insurance excess. Where a vehicle-specific term is required, it will be shown clearly before or at collection.

02

Driver eligibility and authorised drivers

Only drivers approved by GoldenWheels and recorded on the booking or rental documentation may drive the vehicle.

Each driver must hold a valid driving licence accepted in Cyprus and must satisfy the age, licence-duration and identification requirements shown during booking or collection.

If an unauthorised person drives the vehicle, insurance protection may become invalid and the hirer may be responsible for the full cost of any damage, loss or claim.

03

Insurance and excess

The insurance protection included with the rental, together with any optional protection purchased by the customer, is subject to the limits, exclusions and excess stated during booking, in the booking confirmation or in the rental documentation.

Where an excess applies, the hirer remains responsible up to the applicable excess amount for each incident, unless a different protection package has been purchased and confirmed.

Insurance does not remove the hirer’s responsibility where these Terms and Conditions are breached or where the incident falls within an exclusion.

04

What standard insurance may not cover

Unless specifically included in the selected protection package, standard cover may exclude:

  • Injury or death of the driver.
  • Passenger injury or death where not covered by the applicable policy.
  • Fire or theft where not included in the selected cover.
  • Wheels, tyres, underside, roof, windows and glass.
  • Recovery truck, towing or roadside recovery charges.
  • Damage caused off-road or on unsuitable or unpaved roads.
  • Damage caused by misuse, negligence or a breach of these terms.
05

Accidents, damage and incident reporting

In the event of an accident, collision, theft, vandalism, mechanical incident or any damage to the vehicle, the driver must contact GoldenWheels and the insurance or assistance number provided with the rental immediately.

Do not move the vehicle after an accident

The vehicle must remain at the scene unless the police, the insurance company, an authorised assistance provider or GoldenWheels instructs the driver to move it. Moving the vehicle without authorisation may affect insurance cover and may make the hirer responsible for the full resulting loss.

1Call GoldenWheels and the insurance assistance number immediately.
2Remain at the scene and follow the instructions given.
3Take photographs of the vehicles, damage, number plates and location when safe.
4Do not admit liability, arrange repairs or leave without authorisation.

Failure to report an incident correctly or to cooperate with the police, insurer or GoldenWheels may invalidate insurance protection.

06

Permitted use of the vehicle

The vehicle must be used carefully, legally and only for normal road travel.

The vehicle must not be used:

  • By an unauthorised driver.
  • For racing, speed testing or competitive driving.
  • To tow another vehicle, trailer or trolley without written approval.
  • For an illegal purpose or unauthorised transport of goods.
  • Off-road, on unsuitable terrain or on roads that may damage the vehicle.
  • While the driver is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating substances.
  • In a reckless, negligent or abusive manner.
07

Full hirer liability

The hirer may be responsible for the full cost of repair, replacement, recovery, loss of use and related expenses where loss or damage occurs because:

  • The vehicle was driven by an unauthorised person.
  • The driver breached traffic law or these Terms and Conditions.
  • The driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • The vehicle was used off-road or on unsuitable terrain.
  • The damage resulted from negligence, misuse or reckless driving.
  • The accident or damage was not reported correctly.
  • The vehicle was taken into an area where cover and assistance do not apply.
08

Fuel and incorrect refuelling

The vehicle must be returned in accordance with the fuel policy confirmed in the booking or rental documentation.

The hirer is responsible for using the correct fuel. If incorrect fuel is placed in the vehicle, the hirer may be charged for recovery, draining, cleaning, repairs, replacement parts and any related loss.

Possible cost: €200–€2,000

The final amount depends on the vehicle, the extent of the damage and the actual recovery and repair costs.

09

Keys and vehicle access

The hirer is responsible for the vehicle keys, remote controls and any security device supplied with the vehicle.

If keys are lost, damaged, stolen or locked inside the vehicle, the hirer may be charged for assistance, delivery, replacement, programming and related expenses.

Possible charge: up to €300
10

Damage, loss and payment authorisation

GoldenWheels may charge the hirer or payer for rental charges, extensions, missing fuel, fines, keys, recovery, damage, loss and other amounts payable under the booking and these Terms and Conditions.

By providing a payment card and accepting the booking, the customer authorises GoldenWheels to process amounts that are properly due, subject to applicable law and the evidence available for the relevant charge.

Where damage is covered by insurance, the applicable excess may be charged. Damage or loss outside insurance cover may be charged at its full actual cost.

11

Traffic fines, parking charges and penalties

The hirer is responsible for all traffic fines, parking fines, tolls, penalties and similar charges incurred during the rental period.

GoldenWheels may provide the hirer’s details to the relevant authority where legally required and may charge any reasonable administration cost connected with processing a fine or notice.

12

Rental period, extensions and late return

The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location on the agreed date and time.

A rental extension is valid only after approval by GoldenWheels. The hirer should contact us before the scheduled return time.

If the vehicle is returned late without approval, additional rental charges may apply at the applicable daily rate, together with any related costs.

13

Early return and unused rental time

If the hirer returns the vehicle before the agreed end date or time, no refund is normally provided for the unused rental period unless GoldenWheels agrees otherwise in writing.

14

Vehicle condition and supplied equipment

The hirer must inspect the vehicle at collection and notify GoldenWheels of any visible damage or missing equipment that has not already been recorded.

The vehicle and all supplied equipment must be returned in the same condition, allowing for reasonable wear and tear.

Vehicle tools Jack Spare wheel or repair kit Radio and multimedia equipment
15

Termination and repossession

GoldenWheels may terminate the rental and recover the vehicle if the hirer breaches these Terms and Conditions, provides false information, fails to make a payment, uses the vehicle unlawfully or creates a safety or financial risk.

Where permitted by law, the hirer may be responsible for reasonable costs incurred in recovering the vehicle.

16

Mechanical problems and roadside assistance

If a warning light, mechanical problem or breakdown occurs, the driver must stop safely and contact GoldenWheels before continuing the journey or arranging any repair.

Repairs, towing or replacement parts must not be authorised by the hirer without prior approval, except where immediate action is necessary for personal safety.

17

Availability and replacement vehicles

GoldenWheels will make reasonable efforts to provide the booked vehicle or vehicle category. Where the booked vehicle is not available, we may provide a suitable replacement of a similar or higher category, subject to availability.

18

Personal belongings

GoldenWheels is not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle during or after the rental, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Customers should check the vehicle carefully before returning it.

19

Website information and changes

We make reasonable efforts to keep vehicle details, prices, availability and rental information accurate. Images may be illustrative and vehicle specifications may vary within the booked category.

GoldenWheels may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to a booking is the version made available when that booking is confirmed, together with any vehicle-specific terms clearly provided to the customer.

20

Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Any dispute will be handled by the courts or competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
